The “RESPONSIBLE GAMING” Fund, together with “HAIKU-KONKURS” literary and artistic website, is launching a new project – a haiku contest:
“GAME AND LIFE” !
The objective of the contest is to evoke the interest of the creative component of the community to the phenomenon of gambling.
(GAME is a major human activity, alongside with labour and learning. It has been a part of the human life from times immemorial, and it has not been completely unriddled yet.)
Haiku is a poetic form – a 17-syllable tercet, born in Japan of the 16th century. Haiku are built on the correlation of a human’s inner world and the outer world.
To apply for the contest, authors shall register at http://haiku-konkurs.ru website and publish their tercets in the section of “Nominations”.
Competing works will be presented at the website according to the rating which will be daily determined by the contest technical jury.
The final vote and selection of the contest winners will take place from April 24th to 29th, 2008. The winners’ names will be published on May 1st, 2008, at the websites www.responsible.ru and http://haiku-konkurs.ru.
The authors of ten leading works will be awarded with memorable diplomas of the contest and cash prizes.
The overall prize fund is 25500 rubles.
The contest is open for anyone willing to show their worth in the genre of Japanese poetry, those partial to the notion of GAME.
