29-01-08, Social Reels Contest was organized by the Fund
Conducted by the Responsible Gaming Fund, the Storm International holding company and the Jazz Town entertainment center, the contest elicited animated, socially-oriented video clips.
Both professionals and amateurs, in a word anyone who could create a video clip was eligible to take part in the contest. Since the goal of the project was to promote a more thoughtful attitude towards life in a modern metropolis, the awards were given in the following 4 appropriate categories: “Responsible Driving”, “Responsible Eating”, “Responsible Shopping”, “Responsible Gaming.”
The judges received 34 video clips from different regions of Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine and Estonia. In December 2007 the jury chose the 11 best works for the final stage of the contest which were screened on the public outdoor display of the Jazz Town entertainment complex for three weeks.
The award ceremony took place at the Jazz Town club in late January. After the ceremony The Jazz Town club held a banquet where moving and eloquent jazz was performed by Evgeni Borets and the Jazz Town Band.
The Head of the Responsible Gaming Fund, Lavrenty Gubin, announced that due to the excellent participation in the contest and its good effect, the Fund plans to hold it again next year. Since the aims and values of the contest were so readily accepted by so many creative people, it may indicate that a responsible attitude towards life is indeed an achievable goal.
